16Territory Account Manager

Job Description:

The Territory Account Manager is responsible for generating revenue by maintaining existing client relationships, selling deeper into current clients and acquiring new business. Product revenue consists of transactional sales of bar code printers, data collection devices, ribbons and labels; strategic solution sales of RFID and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). The right candidate will be detail oriented with solid communication skills and show a track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives. The individual will have IT experience selling Enterprise Computing hardware and/or software. Travel will consist of visiting customer sites throughout the Chicago area.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Consistently manage and produce an accurate sales forecast and pipeline
  • Set daily meetings (3-5 meetings) with prospects and customers to identify and analyze what their product and service needs are, matching products and services to customer requirements.
  • Telephone daily calling of existing customers balanced with prospecting (10-15 calls)
  • Identify any customers concerns, investigate and resolve problems, and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Leverage the appropriate team members and vendor partners to address customer requirements.
  • Prepare sales proposals and quotes for customers.
  • Consult with distribution partner and vendor/manufacturer to ensure the terms of product and services sales comply with pricing, delivery and inventory policies.
  • Complete necessary sales orders and documentation to initiate sales transactions/orders.
  • Maintain sales certifications and attend partner/vendor sales trainings as required by your manager.
  • Maintain regular business hours 8 am – 5 pm and work outside of normal hours as needed to complete sales tasks and achieve quota.

Desired Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Must have 3+ years of proven sales experience in the IT industry.
  • Excellent communication, sales, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and high ethical business standards.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and a CRM system.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, set goals and maintain high activity levels.
  • High energy with a commitment to success.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Formal training in sales techniques, marketing or business development.
